How we rate online casinos

Every score is computed from facts we read on the operator's or the regulator's own pages, each with its link and its date. Scores are computed, never edited by hand. Nobody pays to move up.

  4. Regulator record , 15% of the score

    Starts at 10. Two points off for each action the regulator published against the operator in the last five years, two points more if any fine exceeded $100,000. It never goes below zero.

  5. What we could source , 15% of the score

    The share of the facts we could source on an official page, out of everything the review needed. Every fact we could not verify lowers it.

Facts we could not verify

Some operator pages are closed to readers outside the United States. When a fact cannot be read at the source, we leave it empty and say so on the review. It scores the lowest step of its criterion, never a guess, and it also lowers the sourcing score.

Best for lists

A casino joins a "best for" list when its official pages show the fact below. A list is published once at least 2 casinos qualify, and casinos are ordered by their overall score.

How fresh the facts are

Every fact carries the date we read it. After 90 days it is flagged for re-verification on the page. After 180 days it can no longer be published: the page stays offline until we read the source again.
